Charity Ride Program

Personal Statement: Cate Gallivan

As a survivor of childhood cancer, riding in the Pan Mass Challenge is my chance to give back to all the doctors and nurses who took such great care of me and my family 39 (!) years ago. All the money raised goes directly to Dana Farber for research and support. The ride itself is a fantastic route through the back roads of Massachusetts, often lined with volunteers, family, friends, survivors, chickens, ponies, and the occasional wild turkey.

This was my first year of doing the ride on my new Seven Alaris, and it felt like I was rolling along on a big puffy cloud, peddling faster and easier than I ever have on any other bike. Having a bike that actually fits not only made ride day easier, but also enabled me to get right back on the bike the day after and commute to work as though I had sat around and ate donuts all weekend. I appreciate all the support for my PMC ride, and I appreciate the bike that lets me do it with style and ease!

I know that there are so many worthy causes and am a consistent donor for many other events, in order to support just the cause itself or someone's participation.
