American Custom Bicycles in Steel, Titanium and Ti/carbon mix

Three-Year Protection

$495

Three-Year Protection (TYP) is a program that lets new customers buy coverage against accidental damage to their frame. Our lifetime warranty is valid to the original owner for the lifetime of the frame and covers craftsmanship and manufacturer’s defects. TYP protects against unforeseen, unlucky, or unfortunate damage to their Seven frame for three years after purchase. While it doesn’t cover intentional abuse, it protects them from damage caused in car crashes, bike crashes, accidents, etc.

  • Damage to the frame will be repaired free of charge for 3 years from date of purchase, to the original owner of the frame.
  • While we will do our best to repair—not replace—all damages, if frame replacement is deemed necessary by Seven Cycles, the frame owner will be charged only 50% of the original retail price of a new frame. Carbon frames will almost always require replacement if exposed to impact.
  • After repair work, your frame will be refinished at no charge—a $395 value.
  • 3 years of no-fault coverage
    • Coverage only applies to frames and titanium components manufactured by Seven Cycles.
    • Paint work is not covered.
    • Deliberate misuse, abuse, neglect, and malicious intent are not covered.
  • Shipping and shop labor fees are not included.
  • Lifetime warranty is still valid to the original owner even after the program’s three years have expired.

What does TYP cover that our lifetime warranty does not?

Just about everything. Our lifetime warranty is valid to the original owner for the lifetime of the frame and covers craftsmanship and manufacturer’s defects. TYP protects against unforeseen, unlucky, or unfortunate damage to their Seven frame for three years after purchase. While it doesn’t cover intentional abuse, it protects you from damage caused in car crashes, bike crashes, accidents, etc. To illustrate the value of this coverage, here is a brief list of repair costs:

  • Titanium head tube: $778
  • Seat stays on an Elium SLX or Elium SL: $662
  • New titanium front end: $2000
  • Replacement titanium drop out: $538
  • Titanium top tube replacement: $830

These types of repairs would be covered by TYP, but not covered by our standard lifetime warranty.
