American Custom Bicycles in Steel, Titanium and Ti/carbon mix

Limited Edition: Mobius SL NAHBS Replica Rocketship

NAHBS is the North American Handmade Bicycle Show.

What better bike to highlight Seven’s hand building custom capabilities than our Mobuis dual suspension bike. What better place to exhibit than NAHBS.

We’ve brought all our experience in building more than 35,000 bikes to bear on this Limited Edition Mobius Rocketship. It’s the most sophisticated suspension bike we’ve ever built and it’s got some one-off details we think some people will appreciate. If you weren’t able to see it in person at NAHBS, check these photos and specifications. If you want one you’d better act before 31 March 2019.

Primary Use: Cross-Country riding and long hours in the saddle.

Typical Configuration: 120mm travel, front and rear, 27.5 x 2.6” or 29 x 2.4”. Other wheel and tire and front shock travel configurations are available.

The Mobius excels at long rides on varied terrain that features punchy climbs and technical descents. This bike wants to be out all day, and excels at climbing without needing a mechanical lockout mechanism to transfer all your power to the pedals. Butted frame tubing adds to the bike’s dynamic compliance and gives the rider greater control over the bike as a whole. Short chainstays add traction and acceleration to the mix.

The Hallmarks

Dual suspension bikes have some notorious weaknesses, and with the Mobius we’ve worked to eliminate them. The pivot location, sealed bearings and shock type all give the Mobius superior small bump sensitivity with minimal pedal bob and superior anti-squat properties. The rear end is tight and stable in corners. Finally, the Mobius is competitively light, but not the lightest on the market. Seven will always prioritize long ride life, over achieving lightest possible weights.

The Quality

The Mobius’ titanium construction gives it an instant advantage over similar bikes made with different materials. As with any suspension bike, long-term quality is measured by its moving parts. For this bike we’ve used sealed bearings, not bushings, in all the critical locations and the industry standard Fox DPS shock. Our floating shock system isolates the frame from the compression, and that prolongs the life of the bike, and makes service less frequent and replacement parts less expensive.

Limited Edition Finish: Rocketship Paint Design

The Rocketship is a limited edition paint design. It’s about going fast and having fun, and above all about exploration. Think of the Mobius as our space craft, pushing out into the bike building universe. Think of it as yours, pushing deeper and deeper into the woods. The whole idea tumbled out of test riding the first Mobius prototype. Over and over our test riders used the word “rocketship” to describe it.

What better bike to apply this design to than our Mobius cross country suspension bike?

The Rocketship is produced by our Multimedia Color Technique. It is the third in the Candy Apple Gray design series.
